We are hiring a Full-Time Permanent Centre of Excellence Senior Advisor position working out of Edmonton, AB.
As the Senior Advisor, you provide specialized expertise in process improvement of financial processes and financial planning systems across EPCOR. You oversee the day-to-day operations of the Centre of Excellence, managing the lifecycle of supported financial applications (ERP/EPM) and providing proactive support for these applications and related data analysis.
Your role involves streamlining processes and simplifying tasks to standardize the use of these applications and the approach to data analysis. You enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial model builds within the planning software, offer end-user training, develop training materials, and manage change communications. Your recommendations and implementations are grounded in your strong technical expertise in the supported applications and data, as well as your deep functional understanding of the users’ processes.
This position is eligible for our hybrid Where We Work program.
What you’d be responsible for
- Understanding business processes, business systems, financial management principles and data within Finance to develop innovative solutions that result in strong business performance and high customer satisfaction.
- Prototyping applications and reports, collaborating with business analysts and IT to meet business requirements and ensuring the business receives appropriate IT support.
- Delivering optimal results by applying best practices and innovative problem-solving.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing Finance (ERP/EPM) processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, customer requirements and to ensure mitigation of risks.
- Providing specialized consultative, training and mentorship expertise to ERP/EPM users ensuring that processes meet business needs, mitigate risks, create efficiencies and comply with EPCOR policies, standards and customer requirements.
- Providing clear documentation for project scope, roles, budget control, and record management.
- Problem solving complex operational issues by working with Finance, IT and business owners and influencing change within the organization. Often this results in recommendations and implementations that change roles and how work is completed within and across cross functional areas of the organization.
- Analyzing and identifying issues impacting operational performance of EPCOR’s ERP/EPM system.
What’s required to be successful
- A degree in Business, Management Information System or related field from a recognized post-secondary institute is required.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
- 5+ years of working with an ERP/EPM, Oracle or Adaptive preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with business processes and process redesign.
- An understanding of change management principles.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio and SharePoint.
- Experience implementing ERP/EPM functional or technical solutions and designs, including configuration changes.
- Capable of applying an analytical process to multiple projects or work streams, ensuring attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to present complex information.
- Ability to work independently, exercise decision-making/judgment, and manage in-flight projects with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in building and influencing working relationships with both internal and external customers, coordinating in a fast-paced environment to support and enhance business systems and processes.
- Capable of Developing training materials and delivering training or information sessions, while effectively managing meetings and facilitating consensus.

You have demonstrated flexibility working with others and a variety of situations to deliver positive results. You are a trusted resource and build credibility with key team members.
